My Sunday Thursday

As the air thickens with a humid warmth, the leisurely flow of pedestrian traffic keeps pace with the automobiles’ quiet roll.  There’s no rush on this rather quiet Thursday mid morning as it grants me permission to sit and relish in an encompassing atmospheric lunch.

This modest space is Sunday, my kind of Sunday where the room is a muffled quiet stillness as the light permeates through forgotten windows and warms my back.  An intimacy of nestled conversations, shared over cuisines that demand one to pause in visual captivity, whisper through the air as genuine connections are cultivated.

Order and consume, I think not.  Satisfaction is in the practice of observance as hands move with a powerfully confident grace as they wield the hand-crafted knives balancing an electric speed and precision.  I began to crave a power forcing the world at a standstill for an artist was in the moment as he regaled construction of my meal.  As finishing details played out the world resumed to its leisurely flow and delicately placed before me sat a black canvas with sculpted pieces of minimalist beauty.

This is my Sunday Thursday.
